The steps in building this simple storage shed plan is really easy! All you have to is build the wall frames, raise the walls, fasten the wall frames, make the rafters, install rafter blocking, install roofing, cut wall panels, attach siding panels, cut window material to size, attach window panels, attach trim boards and hang the door. Some reviewers have complained about the longevity of this unit, however it does really require a place that is protected from the sun, and other harsh weather. You also can’t be rough with it; otherwise its lifespan will be significantly shortened. It is a cheaper unit not built for harsh weather, so don’t expect the Taj Mahal here.

Hi Brittany, very good and inspiring plan. I built it with some modifications of my own, and about a quarter of it is reclaimed or repurposed wood. Mine’s the same depth but 8′ long and with roof 9′ long as shingles come in 3′ lengths. I went up a foot higher than yours and reversed the slope of the roof as mine is next to garage wall. Also, I used deck screws instead of nails and handled the footings a little differently. I’d send you pics but don’t see how to. Recommendation: tell folks to make their cuts in the tallest 4×4 before assembling the shed; much easier and safer that way. Regards, Wayne
