Which area does JoinCargo covers?

We currently serve all transport within the Attiki region. Operations also take place on national level, between Attiki, Thiva, Lamia, Volos, Larissa, Karditsa, Trikala, Tirnavos, Katerini and Thessaloniki. Stay tuned. We will soon be expanding!

Does JoinCargo have its own trucks?

JoinCargo is not a shipping company, it creates ‘efficiencies’ by providing a network that brings transport buyers and sellers together. Therefore JoinCargo doesn’t have their own trucks.

Do I need to pay JoinCargo?

The JoinCargo’s platform is for free. You pay the transport fees directly to the truck driver.

Are carriers qualified and pre-screened?

Yes, all of our carriers are pre-screened by JoinCargo to ensure that they are qualified. All carry a valid license, a driving license, a certificate of professional ability and industry references. We are committed to providing the best service in the industry.

Does JoinCargo insure my shipments?

All truck drivers on the platform have a liability insurance, which is required by the law. JoinCargo will soon be launching an insurance feature for your cargo. In the meantime, you can use the filters and select a truck driver who can offer insurance specifically for your cargo.

How do I select my carrier?

You only need to enter your route and cargo, in order to directly access a real time overview of the available drivers and their related price for your shipment. You can select your truck driver based on this overview, showing their profile page and previous ratings.

Which filters do I choose to select the perfect carrier?

You can use different filters in order to find the perfect truck. You can define:

  • - the axes of the truck (2-3)
  • - the Euro (1-6), which defines the acceptable limits for exhaust emissions set by the EU
  • - truck cover (closed, canvas, curtain)
  • - truck’s door mechanism (automatic – non automatic)
  • - the type of truck (standard, fridge, freezer)
  • - your cargo: In case of food and chemical, so you can make sure that regulation is maintained and don’t combine goods that are not allowed to be combined
  • - valid ADR (a certificate for Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road)
  • - valid FRC (a certificate for Mechanically Refrigerated and with Heavy Insulation)
  • - support handling (the truck driver will deliver the cargo ex warehouse, do you need your supplied in your premises, please tick this box)
  • - advertisement on cover (in case you don’t want a truck with advertisement on cover, please tick the box)
  • - Insurance (tick the box to select truck drivers who can insure your cargo)
  • - Supermarket delivery (if your pick up or delivery location is a supermarket, tick the box for all truck drivers providing this service to appear)

Why don’t I enter a date, when I submit my search request?

JoinCargo gives you all the available truck drivers for the route and cargo you have selected. In this way you get an overview of all the available trucks and related prices, which supports you in making the most suitable selection for your request. You can specify the specific date and time in the overview section.

What happens if my location doesn’t have an exact address?

After entering the area of your location, you can drag the pin in the map to your exact location.

Will the estimated cost change after I book?

Cost provided by the truck driver is based on an average weight of 400 KG per pallet (1,6 M3). In case your weight exceeds this limit, the truck driver might charge you an extra amount, which has to be defined in advance. Required handling to pick up or deliver the shipment might also affect the price. This can all be communicated to the driver through the platform, before booking the truck.

Your estimated cost will only change in three circumstances:

  • - Significant changes in load details (weight, volume, etc.)
  • - Changes in pickup or drop-off location
  • - Changes in accessorial or wait-time charges

To whom is my shipment request being sent?

Your request is only being sent to the truck driver you have selected yourself.

When will my shipment be accepted?

Most shipments are accepted within fifteen minutes. JoinCargo is working towards high acceptation rate.

Why has my (credit) request been declined?

The Carrier has declined your method of payment. You can either pay in cash or choose a different carrier. Through “search again” link or button you are directed to the other available transport options.

Can I cancel a shipment?

The shipment is a legally binding agreement, which can only be cancelled in case of a 30 minute delay.

Am I required to provide a bill of lading?

Yes, all shipments must be accompanied by a BOL (Bill Of Lading).

What can I send through JoinCargo?

You can ship any goods except from dangerous, illicit and flammable materials, as we are specialized for shipments >1 pallet (1,6 m3). These shipments will give you the most price effective solutions.

How do I rank a shipment?

Each shipment can be rated from 1 to 5 stars. Ranking helps maintaining a high level of quality among our carriers.

Why am I being rated?

JoinCargo constantly invests in effectiveness and trust. Shippers and Carriers are called to collaborate professionally, keeping to their part of the deal in terms of quality, price and service promised.

How do I see my next shipments?

The dashboard shows all deals you have made for the following 4 days.

Is my personal data communicated to the truck driver?

All data is shown in your profile page is communicated to the truck driver.

How effective is JoinCargo for me?

The booking page shows all requests and deals you have made in the past and is easily extracted to an excel format.

Who do I call if I have problems with the shipment?

In case of any problems with the shipment, we advise you to first contact the truck driver. If this doesn’t work, JoinCargo is more than happy to support you.

Who pays transport costs?

The shipper pays you the agreed transport costs. The fee for using JoinCargo is separate.

Are shippers qualified and pre-screened?

It is important to collaborate with trustful partners. We will only allow qualified shippers to join the platform.

Who can be a JoinCargo carrier?

Any DX (truck for hire) carrier who has a valid license, driving license and a certificate of professional ability has the potential to become an Approved Carrier in our platform. Your collaboration with another company at the same time is not a problem for JoinCargo.

Why do I define my availability? How do I get a deal?

You only have to define your availability once, in order to make sure you are only contacted for relevant transport deals and no unnecessary actions are required from your side. You will get a notification through the platform and you will receive an email.

Do I have to declare my availability every day?

You can declare your availability whenever you want! For a single time, for the whole week or month. The platform remembers your history, which makes declaring availability a very simple process.

My availability has changed or the date has passed, how do I adjust this?

In case your availability needs adjustment, this can be done by one click on the “adjust” button. Every expired availability is automatically removed from the system.

How do I define my availability?

To save your availability in the JoinCargo database you have to define the following:

  • - Date
  • - Available areas you are driving (either with or without specific order)
  • - Your available space
  • - Your pricing strategy
  • - And the cargo you are able to ship (food – chemicals – others)

These parameters make sure you are only being connected to the cargo requests that matches your capabilities.

Who sees the price I have declared?

Only the final transport price is communicated which is calculated based on your price settings.

When and how do I accept a deal?

You can accept a deal within 15 minutes after receiving a (transport) request. You can evaluate the shipper by checking out his profile page, which includes ratings of other truck drivers. In case you don’t want to accept credit payment, please press the decline button. The shipper may get back to you with the same request and a cash payment or look for another transport option.

What if I decline a deal?

There needs to be a valid reason to decline a deal. In case of many declines, your account will be reconsidered.

What if I miss the notification of a new request?

If 15 minutes after the request have passed, we will contact you.

Yes, drivers need a smartphone to work with JoinCargo. No specific app is required since it’s a web-based platform. An app will be launched soon!
